The High Vocational Diploma (HVD) Scholarship Program, initiated in 2013 by Thailand’s PTT Group, including PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited(PTTEP), with support from relevant ministries and technical and vocational institutions in Myanmar, continues to promote technical education and work forced evelopment opportunities for Myanmar youth. Through the program, outstanding graduates from Myanmar’s technical institutes and selected high school graduates are awarded full scholarships to pursue high-level technical training at the IRPC Technological College in Thailand. The two-year scholarship program covers tuition, accommodation, living allowances, and travel expenses, while also offering practical internship opportunities in technical and industrial sectors. Training fields include automotive technology, electrical and mechatronics engineering, robotics, petrochemicals, accounting, energy technology, and digital business technology. Recent activities under the program included the 2026 HVD Scholarship Awarding Ceremony for Batch 12, held in March 2026, and the HVD Graduation Ceremony for Batch 10, held in April 2026. The events reflected the program’s continued commitment to supporting technical education opportunities and vocational skill development for Myanmar youth. In addition, in April 2026, PTTEP Myanmar Asset received the Platinum Award for Excellence in Provision of Literacy & Education at the Global CSR & ESG Awards 2026 held in Bangkok, Thailand. The award recognized the HVD Scholarship Program for its long-term contribution to technical workforce development in Myanmar. To date, the program has awarded scholarships to 269 students across 12 batches from technical and vocational institutes in Myanmar. Among graduates from completed program batches, approximately 72% have continued into technical professions or pursued further studies in related fields. Several alumni are currently working in technical and maintenance-related positions within industrial operations in Myanmar, reflecting the program’s ongoing contribution to workforce capability development in Myanmar. The program also provides schol
arship opportunities for students from ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) countries, including Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, to pursue technical training in Thailand under ASEAN-aligned technical training standards. The program supports broader human resource development by helping young people strengthen practical technical skills and improve future career opportunities in technical and industrial sectors, which continue to play an important role in the country’s long-term development.
