Ygn-Dalla Bridge construction to finish in 2024
The Yangon-Dalla Bridge Construction Project sets a target to finish fifty per cent at the end of this year, and the bridge is expected to be operational by early 2024, according to the Ministry of Construction.
Upon completion of the construction of the bridge, the traffic congestion will be reduced to a certain extent, it is learnt.
This is a Myanmar-Korea goodwill bridge, which is
started to construct during the era of former president Thein Sein. This bridge is being built across Yangon River.
Upon completion of the bridge, Yangon will have easy and fast access to Dalla, Twante, Kawhmu and Kungyangon. Additionally, the traffic congestion in Yangon will be reduced, remarked the experts.
The Yangon-Dalla River Crossing Bridge Construction Project was started in January in 2018. Out of 46 bored piles, 27 had concrete filled in December in 2020.
Commencing from 9th April of this year, the approaching bridge on Yangon side had the beams fixed, it is learnt.
On 9th July, SAC Chair Senior General Min Aung Hlaing conducted an inspection tour of the bridge construction site.
During his inspection tour, he met the responsible officials of the bridge construction project, and provided instructions for the sustainability of the bridge as well as for considering the resistance to natural disasters.
This is a four-lane bridge which will be 1, 868 meters long and 26.5 metres wide. The type of foundation is bored pile with its body being reinforced concrete. This is a suspension bridge using the steel ropes, holding a 75-ton load, it is learnt.
