Meeting with ASEAN Special Envoy can pave the way to solve political crisis– PPST
A meeting between ASEAN Special Envoy on MyanmarPrat Sun Khun and the Ethnic Armed Organizations which have singed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement ( NCA) will pave the way to addressing the current political crisis with international assistance, said the Peace Process Steering Team ( PPST) in a statement issued on 6th July.
This statement was released in PPST’s Notification 1/2022 following the discussions on matters relating to political, military, peace
and humanitarian assistance. The agreement was reached during the July 5-6 meeting between the EAOs and the ASEAN Special Envoy.
Additionally, it was also agreed that sustained effort will be exerted through holding of such meetings from time to time to enable addressing the political crisis through employing of the political means involving holding of all inclusive political dialogue, protecting civilians and providing humanitarian assistance.
For PPST to be able to implement its process in concordance with the rules prescribed, the meeting has provided the necessary guidelines, it is learnt.
